

Edward Orley died on October 5, 2013 at Beaumont Hospital in Grosse Pointe. Edward was born in Detroit on December 26, 1924 to George and Katherine Orlowski. He was a hard working student who graduated high school at the age of 16. He left college during World War II and served in the United States Army Air Force in the Pacific and served in the 5th Combat Cargo Squadron. He was accepted at the West Point Army Academy at the end of the war but returned to Detroit to help his family and attended University of Detroit instead for both undergrad and Master's degrees in Business. Edward pursed a long, varied business career working for G.E. and Pillsbury in Buffalo, New York, and then later for Bank of the Commonwealth in Detroit. He completed his career as C.E.O. Of Michigan Health Care Corporation in Detroit. He was an expert at crossword Puzzles and enjoyed time with his family. He was a member of Our Lady Star of Sea Catholic Church. Edward is survived by his wife Amelia, daughter Lyn and son-in-law Robert James and grandsons Nicholas and Michael. He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews and their families. He was predeceased by his sister Dolores and her husband Ted Zbizek. The body will be instate Wednesday 12:00 noon at our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church 467 Fairford Road, Grosse Pointe Woods until time of Mass 12:30 pm.
