

Ernest A. Rinaldi, resident of St. Clair Shores, passed away peacefully at home on December 30, 2012. Born on April 14, 1923 in Scottdale, PA., he was 89. Ernie served in the U.S. Army as a Master Sergeant from 1943 to 1946 earning the Victory Medal, Bronze Battle Star and two overseas Service Bars. He retired from the Federal Government as an IRS Agent in 1978. Ernie enjoyed serving as a member of the St. Joan of Arc Ushers Club in addition to volunteering at St. John Hospital and the Capuchin Soup Kitchen. He loved traveling, especially going on cruises and was always the "life of the party". Ernie is survived by his brother, Lou (Martha) Rinaldi and sister-in-law Delores Rinaldi. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Carmine and Carmela Rinaldi, and siblings Helen Ginder, Amos, Mike, George, Eddie and Don Rinaldi. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 3, 2012 from 2:00pm until 9:00pm at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave. at Vernier Rd., Grosse Pointe Woods. Rosary 7PM. Instate Friday, January 4, 2012 at 9:30am until time of funeral services at 10:00am at St. Joan of Arc Church, 21620 Greater Mack, St. Clair Shores. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joan of Arc Church or the Capuchin Soup Kitchen.
