We are very sorry for Fred's passing. Our prayers are with you and your family. He will always have a special place in our hearts as well, even tho we only knew him for a brief time. We will write more later.

Dear Mrs. Cushing and Family, My deepest sympathy for your great loss.I will never forget Dr. Cushing's dedication to his profession and he is truly a Role Model for all of us.He always followed through with anything that he promised and showed concern for whatever problems we had at the hospital.He will be greatly missed!

I remembered Fred throughout our 4 year High School experience. No one ever doubted he'd follow his father's footsteps. It was MY pleasure to show off Andre' riding on my motorcycle as we ended our first-ever Class of '56 Austin High School reunion in August 2003. I wish I had shared more of his life. Dear Andre & Family I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Fred was my son's godfather. Even though we have not seen each other in years, I have often thought about the good times we spent together. Fred was such a good person that I am sure he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

A man of incredible honor and respect. An incomparable mentor and leader. An invaluable associate and teacher. The icon of our group and Department. But most of all, our counselor and most treasured friend. Fred, you will be sorely missed, and remembered forever.

It has been my pleasure to work with such a wonderful, compassionate, dedicated physician. What a great loss for all of us. Truly he was one in a million.

I will always remember Dr. Fred Cushing, as, very kind, and professional. His expertise was admired by all. I worked at St. John Hospital, from 1973 to 1997. I looked forward to seeing Dr. Cushing, every year at the Tarahumara Mission Dinner party. I will miss him.
