Gary W. Nicholson, 58, of Sterling Heights, passed away unexpectedly Friday, January 8th, 2016 in Sarasota, FL. He was born September 5, 1957 in Detroit. Gary enjoyed golfing, cooking, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a long-time member of St. Malachy Catholic Church where he was on the festival committee and was a past president of the men's club. He was preceded in death exactly 14 years to the day by the love of his life, Sue Nicholson. Gary is survived by his daughter, Kari Nicholson; mother, Patricia Mitchell; and siblings Mike (Shelley) Mitchell; Cheryl (Randy) Mayer; and Elaine (Bernie) Smith; along with many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2-9pm, with a scripture service at 7pm. A funeral mass will be held at St. Malachy Catholic Church at 11am on Saturday, instate at 10:30am. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery.
