I wanted to say thank you to all of you on behalf of my wife Bridget, on behalf of my sisters Karin, Janice, and Michelle, on behalf of my Uncle Herb and Aunt Carol, on behalf of George's brothers Andy and Jimmy and the rest of our family, and most of all, on behalf our mom, Lore. It was a very trying time for all of us, and the kind words and prayers from all of you, and from all of our friends, have given us all a subtle boost of strength to try and get through this. But most importantly, it has given us the strength to pass on to our mom, when she needed it most. Words cannot describe what she has been through! I will never forget that night, but most of all, I won't ever forget the night after the accident when my mom told me how much she loved me like a son, even in her worst time of pain, as were the words I heard kindly from my dad George, who always wished the best for me and my wife Bridget, all of my sisters, and for the family, and animals, who were all his pets. I cannot describe what I feel to be so lucky to have been given a chance to have sisters and a family like this, after losing mine at a young age, and being able to be there to help and share this with our mom and sisters in a time of need. George will never be forgotten, and like Bridget said, mom has her own personal angel now. We love you both mom & dad. With deepest love from all of our hearts, Bill, Bridget, Karin, Janice, Dane, Shelly, Herb & Carol, and the rest of the family. Sleep tight with the angels George, God be with you!

George was one of the finest people we have ever known. Neil met him while a customer at Cousen's clothing store in Southfield, MI. In fact, we saw him last on December 24, 2009 when he delivered some clothing he had tailored. He was always positive and upbeat about life and shared many wonderful stories with us about Greece, his wonderful wife (whom he adored), daughters and grandchildren. Our entire family will miss him! He was known as Curious George by our children. Our condolences go out to your family!

I just found out today that my dearest godfather George passed away. I am devastated. My dearest Nouno, my fondest memories of growing up have been of my nouno and nouna and Bridget coming over on my birthday, he was a dear friend of my fathers...the kindest soul ever in my life, generous, loving, giving...words cannot express. I am honored to have had him as a godfather and his ligt will always shine in my heart. Lore, Bridget and family, I am so sorry for the untimely loss of this wonderful man.....and my thoughts and prayers are with you.

I knew George from the time he worked at Kosins many decades ago. He was the best damn tailor in the business. He was so kind and had a great sense of humor. Over the years we became friends. He would come to my law office in Birmingham and many of my staff loved to chat with him. He always remembered their names and made them feel important. Since I had made many trips to Greece, we always had things to talk about. I loved to hear about his trips back and just to talk about life and laugh with George. To the entire Papatriantafyllou family: Heartfelt condolences and deepest symapathies to all of you. I had the honor of meeting George back in 1967 when we both attended Donbe Beauty College at 7 & Gratiot. George was quite a character and believed everyone should go down to Greektown. I never made it down there but always put George and Greektown together. George was a great man with a personality to match. George will live on in alot of our lives forever.

I loved Uncle George's great sense of humor and his easy-going nature. From my earliest to my latest memories of my times with him, I recall that he always made me smile and feel special, welcome and loved. I remember sleeping over at his house and playing with his daughter Bridget. I loved his sense of fashion (no color was off-limits!!)! I loved that he stopped hunting a become a real animal lover. I love that he loved to landscape. I love that he loved people. My Uncle George will be greatly missed but will always hold a special place in my heart and in my memories. Until we meet again! Deepest sympathies to Lore and family. It was a great shock to hear about George, who embraced life to the fullest. George was a bright spot at work. Always smiling, joking and had a kind word for employees and customers alike. He shared his wonderful vegetables, from his garden and greek food with everyone at work. I worked with George for more than 15 years, as the bookkeeper at L'uomo Vogue. We had many conversations on every subject. He knew and had his own opinion about everything. I am sorry that I can't make the funeral, but I will be praying for him and also for his beloved family.

So sorry to read that George has left us. He was a wonderful, kind and happy man. He would come over to my house to pick up clothing to tailor and then return with them a couple of days later. He was always smiling and a pleasure to have in my home and he always did a beautiful job with his alterations. He had recently left a message with us asking if we had any tailoring to do and I am so sorry I never got around to calling him back. Please accept my sincerest condolences on your loss.

George was a kind man. He treated me very good when Bill and I did work on the house on Bretz street. He offered us food,drink and even gave me a suit and fitted it for me.To me he was very generous,I can see how Lore is going to miss George.Lore is in our thoughts and prayers to recover from this tragic event that occurred on Christmas night. George was loved by everyone. I worked for George for many years, and he was the kindest, sweetest man I have ever met.He had a wonderful sense of humor and everyone enjoyed being around him. He had a heart of gold and a kind word for everyone and every living thing. He was so talented and creative in everything he touched. He is truly going to be missed by everyone. I am so blessed to have had the experience of knowing him. He was an excellent role model.

Sue and I have known George and Lori for many years and we send our sympathies to the entire Papatriantafyfllou family . Our acquaintance began back in the early 1960's when George arrived in Detroit to join his two brothers and their families. During all these years, we have always found George to represent himself as an upright and genuine gentleman. Never would you hear him say an unkind word about anyone. From the times i can remember with Goerge when i was a kid, he was always great to me and my brother, he used to cut our hair for us as kids. I am so sorry his life was taken early, he was a great man. He was the only grandfather ive ever had, and i will miss him dearly.

George often talked about the astounding wife he had, the wonderful daughters he had and the son he always wanted when making our alterations. We were blessed with the great fortune of living nextdoor to George for almost 16 years. He was a great neighbor & an even better friend. His zest for life was contagious to all he met. This picture of him captures his spirit perfectly. Our prayers go out to his friends & family, especially Lore. The neihborhood just isn't going to be the same without him. It is hard to describe the sadness of the unexpected loss of a great and true friend, a man who became a dad to me, and took me into his family and made me feel like a son. He was a special person that was always there when you needed him, and it was his second nature to make people feel great, and glad they were there with him. He helped mom raise four beautiful daughters; Bridget, whose hand I took in marriage, and Shelly, Karin and Janice who he enjoyed a great life with. Knowing George, he is already planning things for when mom comes to be with him, and God. He was called on by God on a very special night, and we were all able to be there for one last special Christmas together and my birthday. There are many heavy hearts weighted by the saddness and sorrow of his passing, but he will now be at eternal peace, and waiting for mom with his past lost friend Coco. Thanks for being a great Dad to me. We love you and will forever miss you, and the joy you would always bring.
