Georgia Gust

Georgia Gust was born in Thessaloniki, Greece March 25, 1913 and entered into rest January 29, 2015 in Grosse Pointe, Michigan at the age of 101. Georgia was the adored wife of late Peter Gust and beloved mother of Milton (Irene) Gust, Angelo Gust, and Dessa (John) Mazzei. Sister of Vasili (Popi) Pangalides, Soula (the late John) Koumariotis and the late Pan (the late Connie) Parker, Toula (the late Peter) Marinkovich, Tassos Pangalides and Panagiotis (Irene) Pangalides. She was the dear Yia Yia of eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Georgia emigrated with her husband from Greece in the 1930s. She was a lifelong member of Assumption Greek Orthodox Church. She was the cherished matriarch of her family, and her strength, kindness, gentle nature and incredible grace will live on forever. Visitation Tuesday 2:30 pm-9:00 pm with Trisagion 7:00 pm at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack at Vernier Road, Grosse Pointe Woods 48236. Funeral Wednesday at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 21800 Marter Road, St. Clair Shores 48080. Instate; 10:00 am until time of service 10:30 am. Father Michael Varlamos will be officiating. Burial will be at Gethsemane Cemetery in Detroit. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Children's Hospital of Michigan Foundation, Capuchin Soup Kitchen or Assumption Greek Orthodox Church (Senior Citizens).
