Gerald James Palmquist

Gerald James Palmquist, age 83, died peacefully on August 12, 2015 at his home with his family by his side. He was born August 29, 1931 in Detroit, dearest son of the late Luther Victor and Dorthea (Schwenk) Palmquist. Gerald was an inspector for the City of Detroit Housing Department. He was a wonderful father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His grandchildren will remember roller skating, trips to Taco Bell, cooking, boating and his love of raising tropical fish. Gerald was a big time animal lover especially when it came to the family dogs. Gerald was a Korean War veteran serving in the US Marines. Gerald also was very fond of his Kessler's Wiskey. Beloved husband to Marilyn to whom he was married since June 9, 1956. Dearest father of Darlene Ann (John) Baumann. Loving and proud grandfather of Erica Lynn (Ken) Hritz and Thomas (Jennifer) Baumann; and great-grandfather to Anthony Hritz, Ryan Hirtz and Kaya Baumann. Visitation Saturday and Sunday 2:00pm-9:00pm at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr (at Masonic), Warren. Funeral services will be held Monday 10:00am at the funeral home with the Rev. Donald Quigley officiating. Interment will be private at Cadillac Memorial Gardens East Cemetery, Clinton Township.
