Gordon Roy Owens

Gordon Roy Owens was born May 11, 1927 in Flint Michigan and entered into rest May 2, 2015 in Detroit at the age of 87. He was the dearest husband of Susan and beloved father of Nancy Swartz and Cheryl Owens. Gordon was Step-father of John (Deborah) Ward, Christopher (Christy) Ward, Courtney (Chris) Campbell and grandfather of Jonathan (Carla) Morgan, Todd (Min) Darling, Michael Darling; Josh, Cassidy, Christina Campbell, Kevin, Julie, Jack, and Maddy Ward as well as great-grandfather of Emma and Samuel Morgan, and Axel Darling. Gordon served in the Navy in WWII and was a CPA for 40 years. Funeral Tuesday instate 9:30 am until time of service 11:00 am at St. James Lutheran Church, 170 McMillan Rd., Grosse Pointe Farms, MI 48236. Burial will be in White Chapel Cemetery in Troy, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lutheran World Relief Fund, PO Box 17061, Baltimore, MD 21297-1061 benefitting the Nepal Earthquake Fund.
