Grace Ruth Gallagher

Grace Ruth Gallagher of Clinton Township passed away on February 18, 2019 at the age of 91. A daughter of Harry Hensell and Julia (nee Myszkier), she was born on August 8, 1927 in Detroit. In her youth, Grace enjoyed dancing on the Boblo boats and in the ballrooms of Detroit. She had left high school early to join the workforce, but promised one of her teachers that she would pursue her diploma. At the age of 50, she fulfilled that promise by earning her GED. Grace loved to read novels and watch old musicals- an interest that she passed along to her daughters. Dear mother of James R., P. John, Richard (Anita), Donald, Susan (Doug) McKay, Janet (Jay) Warchol and Andrew (Tescile). Grandmother of Amy, James, Michelle, Nathan, Philip, Daniel, Kylah, Jillian, Shannon, Dominique, Roseanne, Matthew, Drew, Steven, and Jennifer. Great-grandmother of 7. A visitation will take place on Friday, February 22, from 3-8 PM at A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave., Grosse Pointe Woods, 48236. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 23, at 10 AM at A. H. Peters Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Roseland Park Cemetery in Berkley.
