Hedwidge "Hedy" Helen Gorey

Hedwidge "Hedy" Gorey passed away on Thursday February 18 at the age of 81 at St. John Hospital in Detroit with her family by her side. She was born in New York, New York the daughter of Philip and Ida Beaudoin. Hedy and her husband Tom enjoyed over 53 years of marital bliss. Together they raised four daughters, Jo-Anne Satterly (William), Kathryn Buhlinger (Daniel), Theresa Sylvain (David), and Nancy Greenwood (Christopher). She was devoted to her church, St. Joan of Arc. Hedy enjoyed reading and travelling, but most of all enjoyed doting on her beloved Tom, her loving daughters and grandchildren. She was thrilled when a great-grandchild came along. She will be sorely missed by her family. Hedy's daughter Terri said that her mom was a very loving, calm and patient person and encouraged those attributes in her daughters. Hedy is survived by her loving husband Tom, her daughters Jo-Anne Satterly (William), Kathryn Buhlinger (Daniel), Theresa Sylvain (David), and Nancy Greenwood (Christopher); grandchildren Carly, Tenielle, Thomas, Joseph, Brittany, Ryan, Danielle, Sean, Savannah, Mackenzie, Daniel; and great-granddaughter Frederika.Her brother, the Reverend Andrew Beaudoin and her sisters Nancy Mattingly, Roseline McInerney and Delores Tucker also survive her. Mrs. Gorey will lie in state Monday 9:00 am until time of funeral Mass 10 am at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 21620 Greater Mack, St. Clair Shores. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
