Henry G. Dogwill

Henry George Dogwill was born October 16, 1932 in Hamtramck, Michigan; the son of Vincent and Mary Dogwill. He entered into rest February 12, 2019 at the age of 86. Family and faith were very important to Henry. He came from a very loving family and enjoyed spending time with his daughter, grandchildren, nieces and nephews whenever he could. Henry was also a long time member of St. John Deaf Center, where he attended Mass regularly. He also made sure to stay active with his fellow parishioners. Henry was a long time member of the Detroit Association for the Deaf, and was even named their oldest member! He loved playing cards with his friends; Dingo being among his favorite games. Henry enjoyed testing his luck by playing the lottery. He was also an avid sports fan! Henry is predeceased by his parents, his dear wife Margaret "Peggy" Ellen Pauline Dogwill, his twin sister Genevieve Trayner and his other siblings Marion Dogwill and Delphine Dogwill. He leaves behind his beloved daughter Nicole (Katie Cushmore) Dogwill. He is the treasured grandfather of Sofie Dogwill, and Tallulah Dogwill. Caring uncle of Larry (Annette) Trayner, Paul (Mary) Trayner, and Gerald (Stephanie) Trayner and great-uncle of Nannette Trayner (former husband Matt Bray), Nicole Trayner, Ashley Trayner, Justin Sand (Heather Axelrod), Mindi (Jeff) Speck, Anthony Trayner and Raven Trayner.. Great-great-uncle of Emmalyn Bray and Harper Bray, Lia Golenbiewski, Shane Speck, Josie Speck and Zachary Speck. A memorial service will be held for Henry on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at 10:00am at St. John Deaf Center at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, 26100 Ridgemont St., Roseville. There will be a gathering of family and friends starting at 9:30am until the time of Mass. Henry will be laid to rest with his Twin sister Genevieve at St. Hedwig Cemetery.
