Ilene V. Sattler

Ilene V. Sattler, 79, died suddenly on September 8, 2008. Taken all too soon, God welcomed home the beloved wife of Bob Sattler who were married 58 years. She is the loving mother of Sheila, Gail, Rob, Diane, Suzy, Paul, David, Mary Ellen, and their families; and the late Johnny. A wonderful grandmother of 16 and great-grandmother of two. She is also survived by her dear sister Sally Sehn. We thank God, you were our angel on earth, and now our angel in heaven. Family members said she was a compassionate, loving woman who gave of herself to help others. She was a volunteer at the Bon Secours Hospital Gift Shop for many years. Ilene loved being with her family, enjoyed tennis and travel with family. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 9:00 pm Thursday at the A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave at Vernier Rd, Grosse Pointe Woods with a 7 pm rosary. Funeral mass 10:30 am Friday at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 467 Fairford at Morningside, Grosse Pointe Woods. Monsignor G. Michael Bugarin will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Detroit. Memorial contributions to Capuchin Mission, 1820 Mt. Elliot, Detroit, MI 48207, Mayo Foundation, The Mayo Clinic , Department of Development, 200 First St. S.W.
