Jack was the best brother-in-law a girl could ever ask for.  Words cannot express how much I miss our chats and our banter.  I will always appreciate the advice and cherish the memories I have of Jack.  May you rest in paradise (Jackie aka Jack-son, aka Mox aka Schma!).  You ended every conversation with 'you're the best' before hanging up on me.  Thank you for the good times, great advice and laughs.  You're the best!

My sincere condolences to the family of my Uncle Jack. I have so many fond memories of him when I was a young girl. He always knew how to make me feel special and loved. He was always larger than life and could put a smile on your face. He  loved the finer things and was generous and wanted to share what he had. I was the first grade 5 girl to have both a pair of Calvin Klein's and a pair of Gloria Vanderbilt jeans thanks to my Uncle Jack. I spent most weekends with him and the kids until we moved away when I was in grade 6. I am very grateful to have had that time  as a child growing up. He was so bright and the wheels never stopped turning.  I can honestly say that he did teach me the importance of family when I was a young. Wishing everyone who new him and loved him comfort and peace.  Dawn Ladds (neice).

What a man.  I loved Jack like family...not just because of our common bond of service to our country (different eras, same devotion), but also because he was so selfless, honorable, encouraging, and so devoted to the veterans he loved to serve in his work.  My world is a sadder place without his booming voice, his laughter, his encouragement, his passion for life, and his respect for those who served.  Semper Fi, my friend, from this Swabbie to the Jarhead I loved like a brother.   I've sent a donation to the Headstrong Project, and encourage others to do the same.

David, thanks for commenting about my dad. Your description about him is spot on. Glad to know his friendship with you will remain in your heart. Thank you for the donation. He would be so proud.

Mr. Moxon was cut from a different cloth than most Americans are today. His sacrifice to for this nation and the love of his family will never be forgotten. He gave so much to this country and to his family. I have plenty of memories of playing baseball with Ben and having good conversations with Mr. Moxon after the games. He was a great man and my family has always had so much respect for him. To the Moxon’s, I’m so sorry for your loss. He was a great man.  Semper Fidelis, Mr. Moxon, your service and sacrifice to this nation will never be forgotten. May God rest your soul.

To Meghan, Ben and Jessie Your dad, my dear brother Jackie as we always called him was the hi light of my childhood.  There was a difference of almost five years between us , Jack being the big brother. As years passed , when we were in our forties , of course he always said I was the older sister.  Jack was always one of the most unique and brilliant characters I’ve ever known and when I say characters I mean characters.  When we were kids he bought me my first bicycle, a bright and shiny CCM with training wheels and 63 years ago that was top of the line. That was Jack, always the biggest and the best. He always wanted to provide for me and bring joy. We had a stamp collection together and would anxiously await for stamps to come in the mail ( that he arranged) with the expectation of receiving a rare stamp. He thought we may become rich. We built model airplanes together, went fishing, he taught me to swim and the importance of dreaming . Throughout our years he was my best friend. When he signed up for the Marine Corp at 18, I was devastated and especially being sent off to Vietnam at wartime. Here was this young Canadian boy volunteering to go to war when others were fleeing the USA to avoid war.  That was Jack, strong , brave and committed to serve. He was proud to be a Marine and loved his country.  I am so proud to call him my brother, to have had the honour to share our youth and my dear Jackie Rest In Peace and know you served as a hero. I love you always Your sister Linda

When I think of Jack, I see a man full of paradoxes. He was so courageous and also fearful. He could be very trusting and still doubt others. He was extremely intelligent, but still made some poor choices. He was confident, but silently sought others approval. He could be honest, although at times he would deceive. He loved deeply and he hurt deeply. He wrestled with the demons of war, but he hid behind a big smile. May he find peace and rest in Our Father’s arms.
