

James M. Lang, age 68 of Eastpointe, passed away November 14, 2015. He was born in Detroit on February 20, 1947; the son of Willard "Mel" and Leatrice (nee Anderson) Lang. Jim honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War from 1966 until 1970. Following his service, Jim worked for 43 years at Farmer Jacks (A&P/Kroger) where he performed multiple tasks creating, improving and maintaining store layout and efficiency. He was a longtime member of The United Food and Commercial Workers Union 876 in Madison Height as well as a member of the Bruce Post 1146 in St. Clair Shores. In his spare time, among many things, Jim enjoyed reading, building model cars, and most of all he adored spending time with his grandson. Jim is dearly loved and will be deeply missed. Beloved husband of Ruth (nee Rice). Loving father of Holly. Treasured Papa of Preston. Dear brother of Suzanne, Kristine, Helen and Barbara. He is also survived by Skip and Barb Rice as well as many nieces and nephews. Jim's family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2:00pm until 9:00pm with a service with military honors at 7:00pm at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr at Masonic (13-1/2 Mile), Warren.
