James M. Sesnie

James Michael Sesnie, 76, of Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan died Saturday, April 23, 2016 at his home. He was the beloved husband of the late Josephine, survived by his Dear brother Thomas (Dorothy), sisters-in-law Beverly Sesnie and Sophia Sobson, 21 nieces and nephews, and 34 great-nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Edward G. and Evelyn (Barnes) Sesnie; siblings Patricia (Wilfrid) Ford, Joan (Norman) Dailey, Barbara (Kenneth) Gibson, Edward (Pauline) Sesnie, Paul Sesnie; and brother-in-law Henry Sobson. He was born October 31, 1939 in Jamestown, New York. Mr. Sesnie was a graduate of Fenn College and then served in the Army where he received medals for Good Conduct and Marksmenship. He was a Certified Public Accountant and worked as an accounting auditor for General Motors, as the CFO for Spartan Industries and retired as the CFO for Pat Moran auto dealerships. Jim was actively involved in many community organizations including Amvets Post 57, the Grosse Pointe Crisis Club, the Grosse Pointe Farms Boat club and a faithful parishioner at St. Paul on the Lake Catholic Church since 1974. He loved spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed playing Pinochle, reading, politics, cooking and was always ready with a good joke. Visitation Monday May 9th 1:30 pm 9:00 pm with Amvets White Clover Service at 6:30 pm and rosary at 7:00 pm at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack at Vernier Road, Grosse Pointe Woods 48236. Funeral Tuesday May 10th; Instate 9:30 am until time of mass 10:00 am at St. Paul on the Lake Catholic Church, 157 Lake Shore Road, Grosse Pointe Farms. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to St. Paul on the Lake Catholic Church; Amvets Post 57; or the Grosse Pointe Crisis Club. Light a candle and share a memory.
