Janet Elizabeth Daly

Janet E. Daly, age 49, died peacefully on March 20, 2011. She was born on April 7, 1961 in Grosse Pointe, the daughter of John and Erlene Daly. Janet grew up in Grosse Pointe Woods and attended Bethany Lutheran School in Detroit, Parcells Middle School and Grosse Pointe North. Ms. Daly graduated Macomb County Community College in 1992 with Registered Nurse Certification. She continued her education and obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Administration from Madonna University in 1997. Janet has been employed by MediLodge for 12 years. The first five years, she was the Director of Nursing at the MediLodge of Richmond (MI) and the last seven years she was the Nursing Home Administrator at MediLodge of Monroe. She was named the February 2011 Employee of the Month by MediLodge of Monroe. Ms. Daly was actively involved and oversaw the construction of a new addition at the Monroe facility. She also was responsible for the 5 Star rating from Medicare and the American Health Care Association's Bronze Award in 2010. Because of her great leadership, administrative and management skills, the MediLodge of Monroe has achieved acclaim and high success. Janet enjoyed photography, computers, online gaming, travel and fine dining. Janet is survived by her parents; Jack Daly and Erlene Barrow; her step-mother Geri Daly; her brother John (Becky); her uncle Richard Schutt and aunts, Ellen Walinske and Connie Schutt (the late Warren). She also leaves a step-sister, Dr. Lisa MacLean (Brian); a step-brother, Timothy DiMartino (Shari); and her dear friend, Barbara Post. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday at the A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue at Vernier Road in Grosse Pointe Woods. The funeral will be private.
