Janet Estelle Goyette

Janet graduated from East Commerce High School and worked at Detroit Edison, until her marriage to Emile Goyette. Janet and Emile were married for over 60 years, having married in June 1952 at St. Raymond Catholic Church in Detroit.

Janet had many interests and hobbies. She was an avid gardener, she sewed, she loved making dollhouses and miniatures, browsing resale shops and flea markets was a favorite past-time, and there was not a stray cat she did not feed.

Her absolute favorite place was her cottage in Caseville. Janet and Emile bought their little yellow cottage in 1975 and spent every summer there. Even in these last years, she still thought of her cottage daily.

Janet was welcomed into heaven by her dear sister, Elsie Lutz. She is the loving mother to Susan (Michael) Dowgiewicz and Jeanne (Thomas) Wightman. Proud grandmother to Kathryn, Joseph (Ashley), Richard, and Daniel, and dear great-grandmother to Jacob, Alex, and Nicholas.

A visitation for Janet will be held on Thursday, September 12th from 2pm until 8pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home located at 20705 Mack Ave. Grosse Pointe Woods, MI. A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 13th at 12pm with an hour of visitation prior, at A.H. Peters Funeral Home.
