Gma can finally be reunited with her one true love Gpa up in heaven. Although she did have quite a few boyfriends these last few years that she had put her lipstick on for :) I always got a kick out of that. She was an amazing woman who raised another amazing woman my mother! I told her time and time again that she was an amazing mother! I will definitely miss my chats with gma and I will forever have her in my heart. She truly was a fighter and spent the last 10 years fighting cancer. She really was a truly amazing woman and I aspire to be like her one day. I will miss you so much gma, love you xoxo

I had the privilege to see Janette and to be with her family at the hospital shortly before she died. Diane and I saw her a day earlier and when we were leaving she said "bye kids" and I will always remember those loving words. I have fond memories of spending time with Janette, Jimmy and all of the Slaughter children when Diane and I were a young couple, be it Jimmy working on our car, gathering for a Thanksgiving dinner in the basement or visiting grandma. Thus, I propose a toast to both Janette and Jimmy as they reunite to live together forever, and thank them for being an important part of our family history.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Slaughter about 12 years ago after working with her son Jeff for 4 years at the time. I have now worked with Jeff for over 16 years and have heard many stories about this nice lady. Such a strong woman that seemed to say exactly what was on her mind and how could you not love always knowing just where you stand with someone. I visited the Slaughter house on a few occasions and this was a woman that definitely seemed about 20 years younger than her birth certificate for sure. Its a sad day for sure but also a time to look back and remember all the wonderful things that she meant to everyone that loved her. My sincere thoughts and prayers go out to the whole family. All you kids remember she's now reunited with your Dad and they are up there laughing at you every time you do something silly!!

Mrs. Slaughter will be missed by her Grandchildren, Van,Ian,and Savana...they know Grandma is in Heaven with Papa. God gave us a woman with a spunky personality~ although her heart was always in the right place. God Bless and May you rest in Peace.

For those who knew my G-ma I'm sure you can all agree that she was a joy to be around. She was always a woman with no filters and told it how it was which is one of the things I loved most about her. She was an amazing care giver and took care of so many throughout her life and never asked for a thing in return. Her love for my Grandpa taught me what true love is really all about. I know she is probably very happy to have joined her sweetheart in heaven. She was by far the strongest woman I have ever made. She battled cancer and other health issues as the years went on but she never once gave up. Even as it got close to the end and we assured her it was ok to let go, she decided she still was not ready to give up and kept fighting. I am thankful for having such a loving grandmother and I am thankful that my own mother turned out just like her. I LOVE YOU ALWAYS AND FOREVER G-MA!! You will truly be missed by so many and surely never be forgotten.

My heart is with my nieces and nephews as they mourn the loss of their beloved mother. Janette was my sister-in-law but I always thought of her as my big sister. I will miss her and cherish the memories I have of her and the love we had for each other.
