Dear Family 15 years ago I suffered a serious injury to my eye. While in the hospital several doctors told me they would have to remove my eye. As I was being put under anesthesia Dr. Cardellio walked in the operating room took my hand and said I am going to save your eye. When I woke up I was surprised to find out he had. At the time I had a 3 year old daughter and my wife was expecting twins. After many surgeries and visits with Dr. Cardellio I still have my eye sight 15 years later. He was a great man who understood family and has made a great difference in my life and my families.We even named one of our twins after him. He will never be forgotten in our lives.

Dr. Cardellio was a wonderful man and an exceptional doctor, teacher and surgeon. I consider myself very fortunate to have had the chance to learn from and spend time with Dr. Cardellio as a resident and later in my career. He will truly be missed.

We are all saddened by the passing of Jesse. Jesse was a wonderful and kind man. We loved the annual trip to the apple orchard and enjoyed our conversations during our visits to the office. Our visits to the office will never be the same. The Cardellio family is in our thoughts and prayers.

Jesse was a true blessing to the Marinelli family. He was a humble and soft- spoken giant of a human being who lovingly cared for my family, both as a close family member and as a physician. For me personally, he was a primary role model and inspiration to go into medicine. God bless Pat and the Cardellio family in their loss.

Joan and I are saddened to hear this news. Jesse was a wonderful, quiet, talented eye surgeon and mentor. He changed our lives and the lives of his patients through his knowledge, experience and compassion. Jesse had a wonderful life truly experiencing the "American Dream." There are many pleasant memories as he will be missed.

Pat and family, you have my deepest sympathy. Jesse was on of my life's heroes. I thoroughly enjoyed training under his guidance during the 70's and to this day I routinely use some of his favorite quips with patients. He was such a skilled surgeon and his chairside manner was unsurpassed. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Jesse will be missed by many. He was one of the kindest, most loving men we have ever met, and our prayers are with Pat and his family.

On behalf of the D'Alessandro family, please accept our condolences on the passing of your Father. My father, Dr. John D'Alessandro and Dr Cardellio were friends. My father always spoke very highly of Dr. Cardellio, and I remember several trips out to the family farm to pick apples in the Fall. I remember my annual visits to Dr. Cardellio's office in the summer to cure me of the eye infections I acquired swimming in the Grosse Pointe Farms park swimming pool. He was an excellent doctor. May he rest in peace.

Dear Pat, Please know our prayers are for you and your family at this sad time. Jesse was an inspiration to us; he emulated the class and dignity of our chosen profession, and showed us how to live a gracious and fulfilling life.
