

John "Jack" Fischer was born September 7, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan; the son of John V, and Martha Fischer. He entered into rest on November 10, 2018, at the age of 79. Jack served as a Firefighter in Grosse Pointe Farms for 25 years. In his spare time he was also a professional painter. He was a handy man to have around the house; there wasnt anything Jack couldnt fix. Jacks creativity was well known throughout the Metro-Detroit area, he was the first person to take Halloween decorating to a whole new level, and was even recognized by the local news programs. Once word got out about his decorating skills many businesses wanted to hire him to decorate their store fronts for the holidays. He was also an extremely independent person who loved to stay busy and always had at least one project going. Jack was also a very devoted husband, father and grandfather. He is the beloved husband of Sharon for over 50 years, loving father of Doug (Tami) and the late Scott, and treasured grandfather of Justin and Alyssa. Brother of Tom (Maryann). A visitation for Jack will be held on Monday, November 12 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm with an opportunity to share memories at 6:30pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Rd. Warren (at Masonic). He will lie in state Tuesday at 9:00 am until time of Mass 9:30 am at St. Blas Catholic Church, 12151 15 Mile Rd. Sterling Heights MI .
