We are all so saddened by my cousin Johnny's sudden death. It is hard to explain to others what a great bond as cousins that we all share. Johnny, you will certainly be missed. Johnny: While we'd hadn't seen each other in years. I always kept up with your happings through "Saves", "Wacky" or "Dano". Great times in Chicago, on the golf course, the Higby house and the Pointes. We'll miss you buddy.

We are very sorry to learn of John's passing. We were close friends from from High School until his death, frequently discussing personal,career and family issues. We spent many Christmas breaks during our college years driving to Florida for some sun and fun. John and I started our careers together in Computer System Sales with Four Phase Systems, an experience that would enrich our lives. During the best and worst of times John was one person who I could count on. He never failed to call me on my birthday. John cared deeply about his friends and family and that is what I will remember most. Good friends are hard to come by. I will miss him.

I want extend my sympathy to the O'Hare family. I had the pleasure of knowing John from the JCU football team and he was an unselfish teammate and good friend.

Dear Janis, Michael, Alex, Kean and Matthew, On one of our trips home at Christmas my family didn't quite have a plan for Christmas day and Johnny said "Come on over, I've got a Ham." He was newly engaged but Cathy was out of town. He invited the entire family; siblings, aunts, uncle, cousins and more cousins! I (a neurotic hostess) could not believe his calm, easy and light-hearted offer. He was so confident that everything would be fine and fun (and, of course, it was). This memory sort of sums up how I think of Johnny... Kind, open-hearted and optimistic. He loved his family and was so happy to be an Uncle and most especially a Dad! He loved you all very much. John was an inspiration to his class of 1972 at Grosse Pointe South-Elite athlete, good friend to all, he transcended our age group with many older and younger friends. He also personified the role of good citizen with his involvement in local sports and activities. Speaking for the many classmates who have contacted me in this regard, he will be missed, but not forgotten...

I saw a dear friend the other day then with a hug and a kiss he went on his way. Never thought that would be our last as we spoke fondly of the past. We shared some laughs and a cup of Joe pretty soon it was time to go. Letâ€™s do it again next week we said but the tragic news was sent instead. God came for him and took him home one day while he was all alone. So many things I didnâ€™t say before God sent him on his way. Now the memories flood my mind of all those times we left behind. His kindness and smile will always be forever in my memory. Sleep well my good friend and always know it hurts so much to let you go. Your boys will know as they grow tall that you were there when they were small. They will feel your Love as they grow and know you are there where ever they go. So rest in peace my dear friend John for in those boys you will live on.

Johnny, Christmas eves at your folks' house on University with the famous Honeybaked hams; driving up to Port Huron High in Stack's dad's Olds to watch you get into the South basketball game after we chanted, "We want O'Hare!", and you got benched after you executed a beautiful behind the back dribble; after you returned from Florida, we called you "Mr Photogenic" after a girl said you photoed well; playing on your championship Neighborhood Club touch football team ("Drive for Five"} with Dave Peters QBing and calling plays from the note cards (but never running any of the plays on the cards); your years on Rustics' softball team and your hardball team. Was a classmate of John at John Carroll and also a fraternity brother in Alpha Kappa Psi. Great friend, great brother. He will be missed.

Although I knew John from John Carroll University, my fondest memory of him is the week we spent together in Rome, Italy as a result of the Wang Labs 100% Club we both attained. Drinking Italian wine, warm beer, partying till dawn, looking at the Statue of David, we grew closer, had fun and I got to know the John I did not get to know at JCU.
