John William Schram

John attended elementary school at St. Joan of Arc Catholic School before graduating from Bishop Gallagher High School. He furthered his education and received a bachelor’s degree in business from Western Michigan University.

John served proudly in the US Marine Corps, attaining the rank of Sergeant, and earning himself a rifle expert badge.

John was a talented woodworker and carpenter. He was the go-to man to help his family with any home renovation or construction project.

John had many passions. He enjoyed playing darts and was part of a traveling bar league. He also had cornhole boards custom-made to combine his love of the game with his pride of being a Marine. John was never shy about using his singing voice at Karaoke. He was both the best and the worst partner to have in Euchre. Being outdoors gave John peace. Camping was an activity that brought him joy, and he was known for building large campfires. John was also an avid sports fan of NASCAR, U of M, the Tigers, the Red Wings, and the Detroit Lions being at the top of the list. He always hoped to see the Lions win the Super Bowl.

John was the beloved son of the late Ronald and Elaine Schram. He is survived by his loving wife, Jill; cherished daughters, Marena and Jaylin; siblings, Susan, Michael (Debbie), Elizabeth (John), Ellen (Jerome), Robert (Kelly), William, and the late Carolyn; as well as many nieces and nephews.

A visitation for John will be held Friday, September 19, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at A H Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48236
