

John Templeton passed away on October 21, 2011 at St. John Hospital in Detroit. He was born on November 4, 1925 in Detroit; son of James and Ila Templeton. John served his country proudly first in the Merchant Marines and then in the United States Army. On June 22nd, 1953 He married Christine Moro at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Detroit. They enjoyed 58 years of marriage together. Mr. Templeton was the bar manager at the Golden Lion for twenty-two years. He played football and baseball in his younger years and remained an avid sports fan throughout the rest of his life. He was "the greatest guy in the world" according to Christine. He was known for his kind ways and sarcastic wit and could make anyone laugh with his wonderful sense of humor. He will be missed by all that knew him. He leaves behind his wife Christine, and sisters Fern Ray and Betty Dudansky. He is survived by many loving nieces and nephews. A private service was held. His cremated remains will be interred at St. Paul on the Lake's columbarium.
