Robert (Becky Ewing), Mary Beth (Matthew) Smith and Jack. Much-loved grandpa of Mathleen Gasaway, Julie Theis, Kevin Krease, Erin Potes, Thomas, Caroline and Christian Eichenlaub, Megan Dickson, Patrick and Tyler Burke, Lauren, Rachael, and Kevin Smith. Great-grandpa of Eleanor, Anna and Carolyn Gassaway. Visitation Tuesday 4-8 pm with Rosary 7 pm at the A. H. Peters Funeral Home 20705 Mack Avenue at Vernier Road, Grosse Pointe Woods. In state Wednesday 9:30 am until time of funeral Mass 10:00 am at St. Paul on the Lake Catholic Church 157 Lakeshore Road, Grosse Pointe Farms. Family suggests donations to God's Helping Hands of Mecosta County, 8760 50th Ave., Remus, Michigan 49340. Mr. Eichenlaub and Louise married in 1949 and celebrated 62 years of marriage. He retired as a salesman in 1981 from Lamson & Sessions , an automotive parts supplier. He was a member of the Delta Phi Epsilon fraternity at the University of Detroit, his alma mater. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed making stained glass.
