Josephine Violet Gilbert was born on October 25, 1924 in Detroit, Michigan. She is the daughter of Joseph and Nancy Iellamo. She died on Monday, April 18, 2016 in Roseville, Michigan. She married Charles Leslie Gilbert on August 26, 1950 in Detroit, Michigan. Together they raised three wonderful children. Beloved wife of the late Charles for 28 years. Loving mother of Charles (Darlene) Gilbert, Nancy Papuga and Linda (Richard) Gruzwalski. Cherished grandmother of 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Sister of Rosita (the late Dominic) Ciolino, Vincent (Joann) Iellamo, the late Theresa Napoli, the late Grace Girouard, the late Vincenza Cataldo and the late Mary Wise. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 22, 2016 from 2:00 pm until the time of the funeral service at 7:00 pm at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Road at Masonic, Warren. A private interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, Michigan.
