Joyce Ann Viola

Joyce Ann Viola (nee Gass) passed away on March 28, 2020 at the age of 94. A daughter of Jacob and Anna (nee Ludwig), she was born in Saginaw on February 13, 1926. Joyce married Gino Viola in 1955, following the passing of her first husband, Albert Engel. She worked at Hudson's department store for 10 years after devoting her time to raise a family. Joyce was an active member of St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Parish, serving as a Eucharistic minister and sacristan. She belonged to the Tekakwithans Club, the Christian Mothers Club, and was also an active member of the Red Hat Ladies. After attending Sunday Mass, Joyce enjoyed going out for a meal with her friends.

Preceded in death by Albert Engel and Gino Viola. Loving mother of Thomas (Lydia) Engel, Beth (Jeff) Cichon, Patrice (Jim) Kelly, and Jean Commyn. Cherished grandmother of Lisa (Chris) LaGerould, Catherine (Matt Hunt) Cichon, Cristina (Anthony) Geraci, Lauren Kelly, and Maria Commyn. Dear sister to Sharon Bryan.

Joyce will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township. A memorial service honoring Joyce will be held at a later date.
