Judy was born in Detroit, and was a lifelong resident of Warren. A cherished wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, she always put the needs of others before her own, never considering anything a "sacrifice" if it was for the good of those she loved.
Although diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis at the age of 13, she persevered obtaining her Associates Degree, subsequently working as a respiratory therapist at Mt Clemens General Hospital. Despite physical limitations and hardships in the form of pain, she never ever complained and certainly never defined her arthritis as a handicap. In fact, although medically retired, she continued to care for her mother, daughter, and countless others serving as a mentor and volunteer whenever and wherever she could.
Judy and Mark met and became friends in 1981, and went on their first date in 1982. They quickly realized they were "meant to be", marrying on February 19th, 1983. They brought two beautiful children into the world, Mark (a little early) in 1983 and Jennifer in 1985. Their love, so deep and genuine, seemingly ripped from the pages of a romance novel. The two never parted ways or ended a phone call without saying "I love you Honey" their sweet term of endearment.
Judy always had a smile even when times got tough. Her sense of humor was quick often caught us by surprise. She could zing you with a one-liner out of nowhere, usually laughing before she could finish her sentence. She also considered those pesky yellow traffic lights an option, encouraging you to "Gas it up!" on approach. She loved the outdoors, particularly gardening & camping, spending a great portion of her summers in Gladwin with family and friends. She had an undeniable love for all animals, both wild and domestic. Her dogs Buttons, Abby and most recently Piper the puppy were lucky enough to have called her Mom.
Judy, spent her life doing God's work, His light has always shone through. She, being a devout Catholic, always saw the good in all His creations, her faith unwavering. Even in death, she continues help others through Him by donating to the Gift of Life organization. She will live on forever as her selfless donation has already saved a life.
"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose." Romans 8:28
