Katherine Schaefer

Katherine Schaefer was born November 20, 1933 in Hungary to Thomas and Theresia Lichtenberger, she traveled to the United States with her family in 1952, where she settled in Michigan. Katherine entered into rest December 19, 2017 in Clinton Township, Michigan. Katie was a beloved resident of Villa Bella, where she enjoyed many of their activities and field trips, such as going to the casino and playing BINGO. She was also a proud member of the Carpathia Club even if her health prevented her from visiting with many of its members. Katie adored her family and was known for her sweet tooth, cake being her favorite thing to eat. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Mathias, son Don and parents. Katherine leaves behind her children Dear mother of Donna (Tim) Slabbinck, Ron (Kelli) Schaefer, and the late Ton (Surviving wife Susan) Schaefer. Treasured grandmother of Michael (Alisha) Slabbinck, Courtney (Nick Freed) Schaefer, Ciara Schaefer, and Emily Schaefer. Mother-in-law to Susan Schaefer. Sister of Tom Lichtenberger, and niece of Joe Weiss. She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday December 23, 2017 at 10:00am at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Rd, Warren (at Masonic Blvd). Family will receive friends and visitors Friday December 22, 2017 from 2:00 pm until 9:00pm with a Celebration of Life Service at 7:00pm.
