Kim Stema of Harper Woods, MI passed away Monday, October 3rd at age 52, after a year-long battle with breast cancer. She is pre-deceased by her mother Mary Kay, and survived by her father Robert, her brother Mark, her sister Michelle (Jensen), brother-in-law Clint, and niece Samantha.
Kim was an avid fan of sports, especially her University of Michigan sports teams. A music aficionado, she enjoyed going to concerts with friends and family. She loved the twice-yearly Stema family vacations and visiting many other places with friends. She was a longtime employee of Accuflex Industrial Hose and truly enjoyed helping her company succeed.
Among her family and many friends, she always brought people together, planning events whenever possible, and being “Aunt Kimmy” to everyone’s children. She was the connection for many groups across all walks of her life. Welcoming and inclusive, we will all miss her laugh, her smile, and her caring for all of us.
A wake service will be held on October 16th at A.H. Peters from noon to 8 PM (https://www.dignitymemorial.com/funeral-homes/ah-peters). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Breast Cancer Foundation (https://www.nationalbreastcancer.org/) or the Detroit Institute of Arts (https://dia.org), where she served as a docent.
