

Lanie Ruth Kyser was born July 23rd 1929 in Clarendon, Arkansas to Edward Littlejohn and Beatrice Mcdonald. Lanie was educated in the Pine Bluff school system and went on to marry Dearchie Kyser and settle in Detroit, MI, from their union came three children Yvonne, Deandre and Antoine. Lanie spent her younger years being a wife and mother. At the midpoint of her life she entered the hospitality industry; Lanie enjoyed working with people and was often called upon to work with VIPs; "Miss Ruth" was loved by all who encountered her. Lanie retired in 2001; she spent her remaining years as faithful volunteer at the Capuchin Monastery and member of the Red Hat Society. Lanie enjoyed spending time with her family, looking out her window, taking walks and feeding the birds. On January 29th 2019 Lanie made her transition. She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents and two brothers Dr. Walter Littlejohn and Arthur Earl. Lanie leaves behind her sister Sammie Littlejohn, her three children Yvonne, Deandre (Jo Denise) and Antoine (Cheryl) along with six granddaughters, two grandsons and three great grandsons. A special thank you to Bernadette Kyser for her devotion to Lanie. Memorial visitation will be held on Thursday February 7th from 6-9 PM at the A.H Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI. A memorial service will be held at 10 AM on Friday February 8th at the funeral home.
