Larry was the son of immigrant parents, born and raised in Bronx, NY. In his 30’s he moved his family to Windsor, CT., where he lived until his retirement. He began contributing to his household at the age of 14, working in the Garment District as a runner and answering phones. After graduating high school, at the age of 18, he enlisted in the US Army during the Korean war. The Army taught him computer programming which he used with his subsequent positions at the Boy Scouts of America, IBM and Konica. He retired at the age of 65, and moved to the Detroit area to be with family.
After arriving in the Detroit area he could be found working at the Grosse Pointe Farms city park welcoming guests and making new friends. He spent a great deal of his time at SOC in Grosse Pointe, and even taught a computer program to the members there. He could be found most mornings at the Starbucks in Grosse Pointe holding court with a group of friends that gathered each morning.
He loved dogs, road trips, spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and was known for his wit and sense of humor. He was a beloved friend, neighbor, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Larry will be buried in New Jersey with family. A Celebration of Life will be held this Summer.
