grandpa about you there is so very much to say ill write this but to put everything there is no way each and everyday you seemed to make someones day I am glad I can teach my kids one day who I learned the right way you were there for each and everyone you have done eveything you could have done you've told it how it should be even if its not how we wanted to see you were an amazing grandpa, father, pastor and friend the very best the good lord could ever send some people might not see how good you have been but to most you were the best prize we could ever win you were more than a friend, you were a father a husband and a pastor your everlasting love and teachings will be with us forever and more... I am glad your not in pain anymore and it was all taken away but I know in my head I will never stop hearing you say.... Hmmmm...thats the best food I've ever had and remembering that we cant be sad all I am trying to say is grandpa I love you proud to say that you were the best I ever knew you were a blessing to everyones life you have been around best part you make people smile without saying a sound you have tought us wrong from right and not to forget our prayers every night to give it all we could and try and thats its ok for us to cry through all your life we knew you were so strong but you knew when its right to tell us if we were wrong no matter if we were driving to the doctors or the auto store you'd always have atleast one song to sing if not more your jokes always seemed to be funny it would make someones day bright and sunny so grandpa here is what I am trying to say I loved it all and I'd never have it any other way your the best grandpa I or anyone could have ever asked for I am glad you were a big part of my life and cant wait to met once more

Our thoughts are prayers go out to the Locklear Family. We have fond memories of worshiping with Rev. Locklear and his church family on our visits to Michigan.

Pop, You gave me courage and strengh just by your presence.I always admired how tough and strong you were in my youth.Later as a Reverend and a Pastor my respect and admiration just grew.There aren't enough words in the world that can replace the day in and day out example of doing the right thing.Honesty and Integrity were a way of life. A smile and sound advise made a stranger a lifelong friend. Your love for the people was genuine. A gift given you from God.I'm fifty years old and I haven't heard a single person say a negative thing about you.I'll miss your sound counsel. No other voice will ever hold the authority yours did to me.You didn't talk about people, and what was said to you in confidence stayed that way. You didn't have much formal education, but you were the wisest man I ever met.I hope to help and encourage folks as you did.I'd like to bring a smile, sound advise, and an encouraging word.Your legacy will live on.I love you. I'm so proud to be your son.P.S. Please save me a piece of cornbread.

I want to thank our Lord for allowing me to sit under Pastor Locklear as he preached, served,gave,loved,prayed,and set the example of what a christain should be.

I am so thankful that God placed Pastor, Bro.Lee in my life. As a young man and and young in Christ, when I needed direction, encouragement and support. Bro.Lee would be there for me, and Bro.Lee gave me my first opportunity to preach at Christian Fellowship Mission.And for that I will always be grateful, and Pastor Locklear's Godly mentoring has had an impact and influence in my walk in Christ. Rejoice in the Lord always,and again I say Rejoice. Thank God that Bro. Lee is rejoicing with Jesus. He has run his race, fought the fight, now he will reap the rewards that God promised him. He was a great servant while on this earth. I can say my family was blessed by him many times.God gives us people in our lives to make a differance. He truly made that difference. I will miss him , but I am on my way to Heaven and I will see him there. Love all of you.

Brother Lee (Bozo) who he said died when he got saved,but I still called him that, was so compassionate, He was always there for our family. When he preached my brothers funeral he cried like a baby, He would take me to church as a child. This man will always be in my heart, Our loss is heavens gain. You will be so missed.

Uncle Lee's kind soul, giving spirit and encouraging words of wisdom will be truly missed by all. We can now celebrate the life of uncle Lee and take comfort in knowing there is one more angel in heaven.

I first met Bro. Lee when I was 17 or 18 years old and he was always so kind and understanding. He loved and helped everyone no matter who they were or what they did in their life. He baptized me in the river when I was a child and I forever hold Him dear to my heart. had so many happy memeories being at the church and their house where i spent many days and night. you will be missed greatly but you are with the Lord now and thats all of our ultimate goal until we meet again in that home beyond the sky. My only trip to Detroit was to visit Mr. Locklear and his family. Thanks to him again for being the wonderful host and friend that we all knew.

I am the luckiest person in the world to have known Lee.There is no words to say how grateful I am to have been a part of the incredible Locklear Family. To have known a true Holy Man.I wonder if I will ever see such holiness again in my life time. Lee knew thing's about me I'll always be grateful for but I could never explain.He always sat by me at Restaurant's,Family functions,whatever..Lee knew something about me that I never told him,I am very shy.People formed opinion's about me because of it but not Brother Lee.He never judged me.Instead he made sure I was comfortable and had someone to talk to.He stood up for me,defended me.He always knew what I needed without ever being told by anyone on Earth.Lee showed me Friendship that I didn't know existed.He was always there for me. Lee set an example I Pray I can live up to.I have been Born Again because Lee led me to the Lord. I will hold the memories of 40 years close to my heart,but what I will do to keep Lee with me is to live the life Lee taught me.It's a simple life but the bar is set high.I pray that when I'm called up,the Locklear Family will know and say, "Peggy was the person she was because of my Dad,who lived the life he Preached,and my Mom because of the Wife and Mother she was".That would be the best Tribute I could ever hope to get. I look forward to the day I see you again Brother Lee,I love you.And for the final thing I will say to you on this Earth can only be one thing... THANK-YOU.

I did not know Pastor Locklear. I had the pleasure of meeting him one time while he was in the hospital. It was a great privilege to be able to pray with him! My heart goes out to his family at this time of loss. He made an impact on me just meeting him once, I can only imagine what a wonderful person he was while here on earth. I know he is making a great impact in heaven.

Words cant explain what I feel, Never felt this way before. You were such a humble and loving person, you loved everyone in spite of what they did. I will miss you more then you know, no matter how much it hurts I am at peace knowing you are in a great place

Even though I have met Pastor Lee only a handful of times, I could tell that he was a genuinely humble man who loved the Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Thessalonians 4:13 says this, "We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, concerning those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve like the rest, who have no hope." Pastor Lee is in glory now, he is living the reality of what he believed and what he preached, and we will all see him once again! But that being said, the pain of missing him is real to all that knew and loved him. My families condolences go out to all who are in mourning over this great man of God. Rev Bro Lee Locklear my Dear Pastor for over 25 years. He was a true inspiration in my life and taught me how a true Christian is suppose to live. He was a true man of God and cared for his sheep. His legacy will live on and will never be forgotten. He preached many good sermons and one that I will never forget is "The annointing will break the yoke." My pastor also taught me what Christian means. If I ever have any doubt of wrong doing I ask my self would Jesus do that? Christian means Christ like and Bro Lee did a fine job of teaching me how to be a Born Again Holy Ghost filled Christian. My heart and prayers go out to the Locklear family and what a blessing to know that my pastor is now entered in to the Gates of Heaven rejoicing and singing with that Heavenly Choir.
