
Lenore Madeline Blahofski, died peacefully at home on June 12, 2016 surrounded by her family. Lenore was born in Detroit on November 17, 1924, the daughter of Anthony and Madeline DeVita. She grew up on Detroit's eastside and graduated Eastern High School in 1944. Lenore worked for the Ordinance Department and later the Helin Tackle Company before marrying Anthony Blahofski on September 14, 1952 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Detroit. Lenore was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her family was most important to her as she treasured family get-togethers for holidays, birthdays and other special occasions. She was an avid reader and enjoyed a wide array of music. Lenore is survived by her children, Craig Blahofski, Lynn Upchurch (Randall), Carol Blahofski and Gayle Cramer (Clay); her grandchildren, Vanessa, Anthony, Claire, Ethan and Cameron; her brother Kenneth DeVita, sister Dorothy Hofstetter; nephew Robert DeVita and many other loved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Anthony in 1990. Visitation for Lenore will be from 2:00 to 9:00 pm Friday at the A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue at Vernier Road in Grosse Pointe Woods. The Holy Rosary will be prayed at 5:00 p.m. Her body will lie instate at St. Veronica Catholic Church, 21551 Universal at Toepfer in Eastpointe from 9:00 a.m. Saturday morning until mass begins at 9:30 a.m. Rev. Fr. Stanley Pachla will officiate. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township.
