Leona Josephine Pieters

Leona Josephine Pieters (nee Kamilewicz) died on Sunday, March 16, 2014 with family by her side. She was born on April 11, 1930 in Detroit, MI; the daughter of John and Josephine (nee Barsul) Kamilewicz. She married Jack Pieters on November 24, 1962 at St. Bartholomew in Detroit, MI. They were blessed with three wonderful children. Leona enjoyed playing solitaire and euchre and dancing to a good polka or waltz. She spent some of her time gardening and was a member of the East Detroit Garden Club. Leona was also a member of the Lira club. Greatest Wife, Mom, and Grandmother That Any of Us Could Have Wished For... Beloved wife of Jack C. Pieters. Loving Mother of Cathy Blanchette, Cindy (Don) Werbrouck, and Steve (Laura) Pieters. Proud grandmother of Danielle and Ashley Blanchette, Evan and Eric Werbrouck, and Alex and Joshua Pieters. Dear daughter of the late Josephine Lesinak and sister to the late Felix Kamilewicz. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Rd. at Masonic, Warren. Rosary will be said Wednesday evening at 7:00 pm. Instate Thursday, March 20, 2014 from 10:30 am until time of Funeral Mass 11:00 am at the St. Blas Catholic Church, 12151 Fifteen Mile Rd., Sterling Heights. Entombment will be in Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township. Memorial contributions to the American Stroke Association would be appreciated.
