Ruth & Family: We know you will miss your Dad a whole lot. Remember all the good times and fun you had with him.

My dear Mr. Hogan, you will be greatly missed. I am so glad I got to know you, and I do wish I had had a father like you. You were a kind, gracious, and loving man..I will never forget you or our friendship. Rest in peace with your love Rosemary, now. I love you, Mr. Hogan.

Dear Rita, Ruth, Terri, Tom, Peggy, Marie, Monica, Phyllis and Helen, I am sorry that I can not be in Michigan for your Dad's Funeral. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. I am grateful for Uncle Jim's generosity. As I rang in the New Year last night- I had a fond memory of being at your house on Audubon. I spent a few New Year's Eve's there. Uncle Jim and Aunt Rosemary always let us stay up past Midnight. I recall being out on the front porch and banging pots and pans to ring in the New Year. Here's to Jim Hogan- May his Irish Eyes continue to smile in all of us.

Dear Monica & Wayne We are so sorry to hear of your loss, especially around the holidays. Our prayers are with you and your family. Monica your dad I'm sure lived a beautiful and fulfilled life, even though he will be missed he will continue his journey in a better and brighter place. He is with God now, may he rest in peace.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Jim was a very generous person. My late father, Jack, was a co-worker at Chrysler. He often told this story about Jim. One morning, on his way to work, my father had car trouble. Knowing that Jim lived nearby along the golf course, my father called him for assistance. Without complaint, Jim showed up dressed in casual clothes. It was his day off.

Uncle Jim is together again with Aunt Rosie. May he rest in the peace of the Lord. A kind, caring man who will be missed by family and friends.

Eventhough Uncle Jim had 8 daughters, he extended his love energy to me. It was like in spite of my dire circumstances Uncle Jim saw me for my soul. He gently and silently reminded me that I was part of his family at a time when I didn't feel worthy of it. Uncle Jim understood that my particular cross was a familar family health issue and I was just the sorry McMahon that got to bear it. In the next generation it would be someone else who had to deal with it. I am strengthened because he looked at me and saw my flaws and loved me anyway. I am grateful for his enduring love and his accepting example of who we should all strive to be. Love, Jean

This comes sharing the loss of your father and grandfather, whom I remember not only at the marriage of Helen and our son Stuart, but also on Mackinac Island and during the very welcome visit they made to Marquette. He graciously praised my blueberry pancakes!

It is with great pride that I can tell you, when I grew up I didn't have to look any farther than my own family to find "role models". Uncle JIm, along with my dad and their brothers were true Americans, and always put others before themselves! All got married and STAYED married! They were all the strong and silent (with an inner toughness that I will always admire) I never heard one of them whine or complain about the hand they were dealt in life. It is a sad day for me to say good bye to another (the last) boy in a proud family from the "Greatest Generation" Real men!!! I can only imagine the smiles on their parents faces to see how their boys turned out... but make no mistake, they have a football game going on in Heaven where everyone thinks they are cheating!
