Letha was such a joy to be with. She always had a kind word, a wonderful laugh and an endearing smile. I enjoyed spending time with her and will miss her dearly. She was immediately loved by everyone she met. My condolences to Bob and the family. Sue Buda Comfort Care Home Care

Grandma Lash was so special to me when I was a child, that I wanted to have a special name for her. I chose the name 'Granny' because it suited her so well. For years, it was my own private name for her, and she enjoyed it when I called her that. As years passed, everyone in the family came to know her as 'Granny' as well. I love you Granny, with all my heart. When I was a little girl, I loved being at Granny's house more than being at home. Granny's was an escape for me. We had so much fun togeter. Granny loved to sew and when I was little, she would give me small scraps of cloth. I would design clothes for my dolls, cut the fabric and pin them together. She would sew them for me on the sewing machine. I remember having dozens and dozens of different clothes for my dolls that she helped me make. One time when I visited, Granny and I made a Christmas tree skirt. Not a full sized one, but one for a little tree. I picked out all the different shapes to go on the skirt, a church, a teddy bear, a tree... she made the shapes smaller and lovingly sewed them onto the skirt adding sequins for sparkle. I still have that Christmas tree skirt, Granny.

I loved Granny's cooking. My favorite was her buttermilk pancakes. Oh, they were just to die for. I still use her recipe today to make pancakes for my own children, her great-grandchildren. For dinner, she would make a lot of meat and potato dishes for Grandpa. I loved her gravy. She would put lots and lots of pepper in it. Granny also loved her Snicker's bars. There would be a bag of them in the china cabinet, and several bars frozen in the freezer. It would be such a treat when she would give them to us. In fact, when we were little and sick, she would make up these care packages that would always contain some Snickers bars inside. Granny never drove. So we would walk where ever she needed to go. I would love to walk with her. When we would go to the corner store, she would always treat me to something sweet. Sometimes we would walk up to the Frozen Custard on Harper.

Grandma had a dog named 'Lady'. I just loved playing with that dog as a child. I must have been about 7 or 8 one time visiting. I slept in Terry's old bedroom, and Lady would always sleep in bed with me. I would love cuddling around her warm body. One morning, I woke up and Lady was hard and cold in the bed. I went crying into Granny's room telling her I must have killed Lady in my sleep. She assured me that Lady was just old and it was her time to go and that she loved me so much that she wanted to be with me when she went.

I loved her with all my heart. I was not around most of my adult life. But talked to her quite often. Favorite memory: Grilling for her on the back porch of her home for years.

Letha was a wonderful woman, loving Grandmother. She will be sadly missed by all those whose lives she touched. Love, Debbie
