Lloyd Silverthorn

Lloyd Silverthorn was born on July 13, 1926 in Yale, Michigan. He is the son of Evangeline (nee Hydorn) and Lloyd William Silverthorn. Lloyd died peacefully on Friday, June 2, 2017 at Sinai Grace Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Lloyd was an honest and hardworking gentleman that was loved by all. He was a soft spoken person. But at times would speak his heart because it was the right thing to do. Lloyd was a carpenter and he built his own house. He also remodeled his house a few times for his true love, his wife Kathleen. They met at Kathleen's birthday party when she turned 16. Lloyd was also a deacon and a Sunday school teacher for many years. He would also dress up as Abraham Lincoln and go to various schools. He would then recite the Gettysburg address that he had memorized. Beloved husband of Kathleen for 69 years. Loving father of Renee Silverthorn, Bonnie (Thomas) Bartlett, Kathleen (Carl) Bulak, and Bruce (Karen) Silverthorn. Wonderful grandfather of Lesley (Jeff) Samulski, Lisa (David) Parrill, Michael Malinowski, Aaron Bartlett, Kelli Bartlett, Andrew (Laura) Silverthorn, Patrick Silverthorn, Ryan Silverthorn, and the late Evangeline Bartlett. Great-grandfather of Hadley Samulski, Erika Samulski, Justice Samulski, and Lucas Malinowski. Brother of the late Barabara, Marion Ellen, and Gordon. Visitation Wednesday, June 7, 2017 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Road at Masonic, Warren. Instate Thursday, June 8, 2017 from 9:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 10:00 am at Bethany Baptist Church, 19700 15 Mile Road at Beaconsfield, Clinton Township. Memorial contributions may be given to Bethany Baptist Church or to Seasons Hospice.
