

Mack Harry Sutton was born on July 6, 1943 as an identical twin in Flint, Michigan; son of O.N. and Norma (nee McCormick) Sutton. He graduated from Clio High School in 1961. He received his Bachelor Degree from the University of Michigan in 1965 (with honors in English Literature and receiving the Wm Branstrom Freshman Prize), and his Masters Degree in 1967. Mack served our country proudly in the United States Navy from 1967 until 1970. He began his naval career stationed in Norfolk, Virginia on the USS North Hampton CC-1 as an assistant navigator and public affairs officer. Lieutenant Sutton served as a Flag Secretary in Vietnam. He was stationed in Danang and Saigon. He began his professional career as a stock broker from 1971 to 1975. Upon completion of his MBA at Wayne State University in 1975, Mack practiced public accounting as a CPA. He continued his practice until 1985 when he was appointed as the Chief Financial Officer for the Olde Financial Corporation. In 2001 Mr. Sutton began consulting with the Landfall Company. Mack was an avid U of M football fan for over fifty years. Mr. Sutton is survived by his loving wife Donna. He was proud of his daughters Jenny (Sam) Jalet, Sarah (Robin Adair) Sutton and Jessica Sutton; and son Daniel Sutton. He leaves behind his sister Julie Shultz (Sherman), and his brother Scot (Mary). He was predeceased by his identical twin brother Mark Hugh Sutton. Visitation will be held on Sunday and Monday from 2:00 until 8:00 pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home 20705 Mack Ave., at Vernier Rd., Grosse Pointe Woods. His funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am at the Jefferson Avenue Presbyterian Church, 8625 Jefferson Avenue, Detroit. Reverend Peter Smith will officiate.
