Margaret Erna Dickerson

Margaret Erna Dickerson, age 88, died Sunday, August 26, 2012. She was born Sunday, December 2, 1923 to William and Helene (nee Fisher) Hunert in Hamburg, Germany. Margaret was the beloved wife of the late John Lyle Dickerson for 44 years. They were married in Detroit, Michigan in 1942 until the time of John's passing in 1986. Margaret was first a member of First Lutheran Church until the time of closing when she joined Bethel Lutheran Church in St. Clair Shores where she had remained a long time and devoted member. Margaret was also a caring and dedicated volunteer in the Welcome Center at Mt. Clemens General for 15 years. Margaret enjoyed life and loved to have fun. She loved bargain shopping for her passion of jewelry and clothes. She was very stylish and her impeccable sense of fashion would be on display as she danced the night away to her love of music. Margaret also loved to camp, take cruises and spend summer vacations in Traverse City, Michigan. Loving mother of Laura (Bruce) Schofield, Diane (Jerry) Ellman, Julie (Tom) Piepszowski, Wendy (Michael) Weber and the late Linda (Don) Wick. Caring grandmother of Dan Schofield, Jon Schofield, Laurie Hoffman, Michele Hentschel, Leslie Cole, Lyle Piepszowski, Erik Piepszowski, Jacob Weber, Maddison Weber and the late Jane Ellman. Proud great-grandmother of Alex, Mitch and Jackie Hentschel; Helena, Kyra and Chloe Schofield; Lucy and Lyle Hoffman; Charlie, Chadwick and Oliver Cole; and Parker and Delyla Rae. A Funeral service for Margaret will take place Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at 2:00pm at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave. at Vernier Rd., Grosse Pointe Woods. Pastor Hank Flatt will officiate. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 28, 2012 from 2:00pm until 9:00pm at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Lakeview Cemetery in Bellaire, Michigan. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Lutheran Church or the Michigan Humane Society.
