Margaret "Mary" Pica, age 90, passed away November 14, 2015. She was born in Detroit on May 24, 1925; the daughter of Frank and Josephine (nee Leone) Bommarito. Mary was married to Paul for 54 years. Paul and Mary shared a love of God, church, family and fun. They loved to dance, bowl, play cards, go out with family and friends and spent time together. They made friends in their many groups. When Paul died in 2004, Mary did her best to keep going. She later moved into American House in Roseville made friends there and participated in many different activities. She loved going to church, to Tiger baseball, watching sports on TV and attending day trips in various local areas. She loved to sing, and one could hear her doing so weekly when singers came to play. She loved parties and going out to dinner. Her most recent home was at Sanctuary at Fraser Villa, which she enjoyed. Here she made friends of the staff quickly and they enjoyed each other. She went to church, bingo (her favorite), sang, did arts and crafts and most recently attended the Harvest Ball. She loved spending time with her family, nieces and nephews who came to visit. She had a good sense of humor, loved her sweets, had a lot of spunk and did not hesitate to speak her mind. Jesus was an important part of Mary's life, and she prayed for all her life for others and her family. She loved to sing hymns and remembered all the words even when her memory was not so good anymore. She loved her family and expressed her love often. We will miss her unique ways and her openness to let us know she cared for us. Beloved wife of the late Paul. Loving mother of Patrina (Richard) Pica-Kras and Marianne (Tim) Stokes. Treasured grandmother of Beau Stokes, Derek Redd, Sarah Stokes, Ian Stokes, Sheryl (Dan) MacDonald, Richard Jr. (Teresa) Kras and Sandra (Dan) Case. Proud great-grandmother of Jason Ward; Joseph, Brandon and Megan Kras; Connor Macdonald and Madison Case. Dear sister of Grace Carollo, Joseph Bommarito and the late Anthony Bommarito, Sarah Caterrinchia and Josephine Haddas. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and in-laws who she loved.
