Marie Louise Gross

Marie (Haerens) Gross (91) entered this world on May 24, 1923 and returned to the Lord, August 24, 2014. Former resident of Grosse Pointe Woods, she moved to Holland with the love of her life, husband of 36 years, Herbert Gross. She was preceded in death by her husband, brother Charles (Irene) Haerens, sisters-in-law, Linda Haerens and Alice Haerens. Marie is survived by her brothers Amandus (Alice) Haerens, and George (Linda) Haerens; daughter, Gail (Dennis) Babel, and son, Thomas Okrie; grandchildren, John (Cathy) Babel, Michael Babel, and Kelly Babel (Thomas) Huggett; great grandchildren Hannah Huggett, Alex Babel, Hailey Huggett, Katie Babel and Molly Huggett as well as many nieces and nephews. Marie enjoyed a loving family, an active social life with their friends as well as a professional career retiring as Vice-President of Mercury Metalcraft Company, Roseville, MI. She will be remembered best for her love of children and her (sometimes irreverent) sense of humor. Family and friends can pay their final respects at a visitation and service at A. H. Peters Funeral Home, Grosse Pointe Woods, on Wednesday, August 27th Instate at 9:30 a.m. Funeral 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a contribution to Hospice of Holland who were so caring of Marie in her final days.
