Marilynn Jane Pokoj

Marilynn Jane Pokoj, age 84, passed away on December 4, 2025. Born on July 23, 1941, to Leonard and Genevieve Rutha, Marilynn's life was marked by love, family, and a vibrant spirit. She met her husband, Edward, in grade school, beginning a lifelong partnership that lasted 60 years until his death in 2022.

Marilynn found joy in gardening, travel, entertaining, and following the weather. Known for her competitive spirit during family card games, she will be remembered for her determination, sensitivity, and fun-loving nature. She was a constant presence at her children's and grandchildren's events, always ready to show her support. Above all, Marilynn cherished her family.

She is survived by her daughters, Robin Pokoj and Renee Burke (Thomas), and her grandchildren, Brittany and Tommy Burke. She will be missed by her half-sister, Carol J. Pomorski, and many friends and family members. Marilynn was predeceased by her half-sister, Mary Ann "Marie" Niemic.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 13th at 10:00 am at St. Joan of Arc Church, 21620 Greater Mack, St Clair Shores, with the family receiving guests at 9:30 am. Please share a memory at ahpeters.com.
