TRYBUS, Mary J. May 24, 2015 Age 81 Beloved wife of the late Arthur P. Trybus. Dear mother of Donald (Maureen), Paula Burke (Kevin), Carole Trybus (the late William Berry), John, James (Renee), Mary Gail Major (Timothy). Loving grandmother of 13. Sister of Joan Stewart (Robert). Memorial visitation Wednesday 3-8 pm with Scripture service 7 pm at the A. H. Peters Funeral Home. 20705 Mack Avenue at Vernier Road, Grosse Pointe Woods. Family and friends will gather Thursday 12 noon until time of memorial Mass 12:30 pm at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 467 Fairford, Grosse Pointe Woods. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Mary Jo Trybus was born in 1934 to Geraldine (Benson) and Joseph Ebert in New Baltimore, MI. She grew up during the depression loving paper dolls and going to school parties. She graduated from Dominican High school in 1952 and enrolled in secretarial school. Her mother knew a gentleman who needed office help. Needless to say that man, Arthur P. Trybus, hired her. They married in 1955. Mary continued to work for her husband's company for almost 40 years, proud of their accomplishments, including their six children. Her real profession however, was being a mother. She was an amazing, creative, joyful mom. We were blessed to have her. She was close to God praying continuously for family and friends in need. One favorite saint of hers was St. Jude, patron saint of lost causes. He had helped her out frequently. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Arthur. Her six children survive, Donald (Maureen), Paula Burke (Kevin), Carole Trybus (the late William Berry), John, James (Renee) and Mary Gail Major (Timothy). Her sister, Joan Stewart (Robert) also survives. She had 13 grandchildren all surviving; Erin Trybus, Emily Trybus, Elizabeth Burke, Stefan Burke, Zachary Berry, Arthur Berry, Emily (Trybus) de Brun, Alyssa Trybus, Leah Trybus, Nicholas Trybus, Madeline Trybus, Sara Major and Kathryn Major. She enjoyed many hours of playing games and talking with all of her grandchildren. Her love of children was seen in them, as they loved her calm, fun nature and how through example and conversation she gave them building blocks for life. She was an avid sewer, swimmer, game player and a lifelong Girl Scout. She was a founding member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, served as a greeter, Eucharistic minister and a member of the Rosary Alter Society.
