Matilda "Tillie" Ciambella

Matilda "Tillie" Ciambella, age 87, a resident of Centerline passed away on Monday, May 1, 2017 after and extended time in hospice. She was born May 2, 1929 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada to Luigi and Antoniette Mignacca. Beloved wife of the late Giuseppe "Joe" who passed away in 1997. loving mother of Anthony (Karen), Anna (Craig) Balow, Gina, and Joseph (Linda). Loved grandmother of Christopher (Kate) Cowan, Laura (David) Gadzinski, Donna (Sean) Stokes, Joseph Cowan, Christa Balow, Craig Balow, Michael Ciambella, Michelle Ciambella, and great-grandmother of Cole & David Gadzinski III. She graduated from St. Benedict High School in Highland Park in 1947 and went on to work at Michigan Bell in Detroit and retired in 1958 after 11 years of service. Tillie's family will receive friends on Thursday, may 4, 2017 from 3-9 PM with a rosary at 7 PM at the A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave. at Vernier Rd., Grosse Pointe Woods, MI. In state Friday 9AM until time of funeral Mass 9:30AM at St. Veronica Catholic Church, 21551 Universal Avenue, Eastpointe, MI 48021. Interment St. Anthony Cemetery, Hillsdale, MI Memorial contributions to St. Jude Research Hospital.
