

Maureen C. Flanagan of St. Clair Shores died Saturday at age 84 after a brief illness. Maureen was born in Wakaw, Saskatchewan and grew up in Detroit. She attended Sacred Heart Academy in Grosse Pointe, and took a job after graduation with Wabeek Bank. She remained with the bank and it's successors until her retirement from Comerica Bank. She was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Mabel Flanagan, and two brothers, Patrick and Brian Flanagan. She is survived by four nieces; Kathryn Flanagan of Aurora, Colorado; Heather Alexander of Beaumont, Alberta, Canada; Colleen Naqica of Centennial, Colorado; and Patricia Cummings of Racine, Wisconsin; three nephews, Michael Flanagan of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Robert Flanagan of Houston, Texas; and William Flanagan of Aki, Japan, and several grand-nieces and nephews. Maureen was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing cards and rooting for her beloved Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Detroit Tigers. She was a dear aunt and friend. Visiting hours will be Sunday 4 to 7 p.m. at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave., Grosse Pointe Woods. In state Monday 9:30 a.m. until time of funeral Mass 10:00 am at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church 21620 Greater Mack, St. Clair Shores.
