Michael E. Kosinski

Dr. Michael Kosinski passed away on February 13, 2014 at William Beaumont Hospital in Grosse Pointe at the age of 57. He was born on August 3, 1956 at St. John Hospital in Detroit; son of John and Mary (nee Bucciero) Kosinski. Michael graduated from Grosse Pointe North High School in 1974, the University of Michigan in 1978, Wayne State University School of Medicine in 1982, and finished his Orthopaedic Residency in 1987. Dr. Kosinski practiced medicine at Saratoga Hospital, Beaumont of Grosse Pointe, and St. John Macomb. He had a private practice in Harper Woods. His bedside manner and medical excellence were well respected by his patients and colleagues. Dr. Kosinski was an avid supporter of University of Michigan athletics and the Detroit Tigers. He was passionate about playing golf and belonging to the Detroit Golf Club. He was very active with the Grosse Pointe Rotary. He was known for his unique and original sense of humor. On December 6, 1986, Michael married Alice Richardson at the Botsford Inn in Farmington Hills. They were blessed with and proud of their three children Stephen, Katherine, and Daniel. Michael leaves behind his loving siblings John, Kristin, Richard, and Deborah. He is survived by nephews Nicholas, Charles, Benjamin, and Samuel. He was predeceased by his parents. A Memorial gathering will be held at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave., at Vernier Rd., Grosse Pointe Woods on Saturday, February 22, from 2:00 pm until the time of his Memorial Service at 6:00 pm.
