

Manuel "Mitch" Argyris, age 74 of Fraser, passed away February 3, 2016. He was born in Detroit on November 18, 1941; the son of Themistoklis "Tommy" and Theony "Mitchell" (nee Mamalakis) Argyris. Following High School, Mitch began a long career at Ford Automotive Company. In July of 1964, he took leave from Ford to join the Army and honorably serve his country during the Vietnam War. He then returned to Ford in June of 1966 where he continued working until retirement after 42 years of loyal service. Mitch's life ministry was in the work he did with veterans. He was a dedicated member of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 154 and an instructor of Victory for Veterans Bible Study and Support Group of The Woods Church in Warren. Above and beyond his zeal for guiding and assisting veterans, his very first passion was in his service to the Lord. Mitch's life was full of joy. His marriage to Mimi was happy and he cherished his time of retirement while traveling and enjoying hotrods. Mitch will be remembered for his generous and selfless nature. He often could be found offering gifts and support to family, friends and acquaintances. He is dearly loved and will be deeply missed. Beloved husband of Miriam "Mimi" for 6 years and the late Carol. Loving father of Jason (Elena DeCastro), Mark, and Danielle (George) Hammer. Treasured grandfather of Tomas, Matthew, Courtney, Allison, Carolanne Hammer and Faith Hammer. Adopted father of John (Lisa) Walker. Father-in-law of Lisa Facknitz. Dear brother-n-law of Robin. Caring cousin of Joann and Ruth Engstrom. Dear brother of the late Rose, Mitch, Arthur and Betty. Mitch's family will receive friends on Thursday, February 11th and Friday, February 12th from 2:00pm until 9:00pm at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr at Masonic (13-1/2 Mile), Warren. A service for Mitch will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, February 13th, Instate at 10:00am at The Woods Church, 14300 E. 13 Mile Rd., Warren. Entombment with military honors to take place on Saturday, February 13th at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township. Memorial contributions may be made to the Vietnam Veterans of American Chapter 154 or The Woods Church in Warren.
