Patricia Muzzi passed away on January 4, 2023 at the age of 92. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on November 25, 1930; daughter of Leo and Mary Grogan. On August 19, 1950, Patricia married Joseph Muzzi. The couple enjoyed over 70 years of marriage until Joseph’s death on November 1, 2020.
Patricia was known for her positive attitude. Many people were buoyed by her infectious spirit, which she so consistently expressed. She was convinced she could do anything she set her mind to do and she passed that indomitable attitude on to her children. She was a very devout Catholic, who in her later years went to Mass every morning. She built a strong Catholic heritage for her children. She served on the Church Council for St Athanasius Church. Spending time with her family was her greatest love and interest. Her other interests and hobbies included expertly playing pinochle and teaching her grandchildren the skills of the game, exercising daily at the gym until her mid-eighties, and spending time at the casino with friends and family. She was known by her grandchildren in Florida as go-go grandma due to her lively and active personality and she used to laugh about the nickname. Patricia was a regional manager for World Book and a Weight Watchers leader. She also was active in self-help groups where she was very dedicated in mentoring others. She would spend her spare time at the family’s cottage in Central Lake, Michigan and was an avid reader. Her favorite snack food was her stove cooked popcorn beloved by everyone. Her family favorite lasagna was served at many occasions.
Patricia is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Mario Muzzi; daughter Ann Marie Meyers; and granddaughter, Kelly Thorne Muzzi. She is survived by her sister, Kay Collins; brother in-law, Harold (Anna) Muzzi. She will be dearly missed by her children: Dennis (Andrea Thorne), Bob (Mary Lou), the late Ann (Jeff Meyers), Theresa (Kevin O’Melia), Ron (Liesel), Kathie, Joseph (JoAnne Ickes-Muzzi) and Rich (JoAnn Rodger). She is survived by 19 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.
