Patrick is survived by his beloved children, Kian, Lilly, and Mila; his mother, Kathleen McCarthy; and his brother, Christopher (Erisa) McCarthy. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael McCarthy Sr., and his brother, Michael McCarthy Jr.
Patrick, a devoted son, brother, father, and friend, leaves behind a legacy of laughter, creativity, and connection that touched everyone who knew him. His outgoing, funny, and endlessly charming personality made him unforgettable. Whether he was telling one of his famous stories, sharing a perfectly timed joke, or dealing with challenges, Patrick had a rare gift for making people feel seen, valued, and at ease.
Patrick was the cofounder, alongside his longtime friend and business partner Evan Tanner, of TEAM Electrical Sales — a company they built from the ground up and successfully led for more than 20 years. Through hard work, integrity, and his trademark humor, Patrick helped make TEAM a lasting success and a place where people loved to work and collaborate.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, Patrick’s love of the game began early as a proud member of the 1988 Harper Woods Little League State Championship team. From that experience, he carried with him the values of teamwork, camaraderie, and competition that shaped his approach to life. He especially loved sharing that passion with his children — taking them to Tigers and Lions games, teaching them to ski, and encouraging them to enjoy every moment.
Following in his father’s footsteps, Patrick shared a deep love of music, especially playing the drums, with his son, Kian. He was endlessly proud of Kian’s dedication and talent as a drummer and his success with his band. Patrick’s devotion to his children was unwavering; he cherished every moment with Kian, Lilly, and Mila and held respect and appreciation for their mother, Summer, and the close bond she shares with them.
Beyond his business and sports, Patrick’s creative spirit shined through in improv, acting, and writing — outlets that perfectly matched his quick wit and charismatic energy. His sense of adventure and curiosity led him to travel, explore, and meet people from all walks of life, always finding humor and meaning along the way.
Patrick had an uncanny ability to embrace his flaws and use them to connect with others. He found light in difficult moments and goodness in those around him. His friends and family admired this as one of his greatest strengths.
Patrick’s life was a celebration of connection — between people, laughter, and the moments that make life truly meaningful. Though he may be gone, his spirit continues to inspire all who were lucky enough to know him.
