Reinhard Franz Pelvay peacefully passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2017 with loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Judy Pelvay for 34 years, loving father of Marie (Michael) Jender and Michael Pelvay, dear son of Franz and Margarete Pelvay, Brother of Hildy (Rick) Siladi, and survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. Born in Linz, Austria on Febuary 17, 1954, Reinhard immigrated with his parents to the United States in 1956 at the age of three, settling in Detroit, Michigan. At the age of nine Reiny started his first of many enjoyable years at the Carpathia Club. He participated in the German language school, as well as the Jugendgruppe where he danced, sang and performed in plays. He was also a longtime member of the Carpathia Blaskapelle, playing the clarinet for many events. In 1973, he graduated from Southfield Lathrup High School. Reiny then earned his degree in electronics engineering and began teaching electronics at South Macomb Community College, while also pursuing his career in electronics at Hutzel Hospital. He met the love of his life, Judy, while carpooling to work. They married in 1983 and gave birth to their beautiful daughter, Marie Christine, in 1986. In 1990, along came their second bundle of joy, Michael Reinhard. Reiny became fascinated with computers, teaching himself all he needed to know to master this new technology, which eventually led to a career in IT. He then took on project manager roles, most recently with IBEW. Reinys many talents included piano and perfectly harmonizing in every birthday and Christmas song with his family. He loved art, woodworking, photography and everything DIY - from building a garage for his first house to engineering a deck for the pool, helping to design and build pinewood derby cars with his son, Michael, and helping Marie engineer Rube Goldberg devices for Science Olympiad. Ron, as he was also known, loved to go camping with his family, traveling throughout Michigan. On every trip he insisted on renting a pontoon boat at least one day, and a campfire to sit by at night was essential. But most important to Ron was his family and his integrity. His strength and courage stayed with him throughout his long battle with cancer. He will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Road at Masonic, Warren.
